We’re not in the business of scaremongering, so we won’t speculate as to whether coronavirus WILL affect you directly, and become a pandemic (we sincerely hope it doesn’t), but what we can do is see what we can do to mitigate potential harm.
What we know, at this stage, is that the mortality rate for COVID-19 has been somewhere between 2-4%. That may not sound high, but when factoring in a pandemic, it is an awful lot of people. What we also know is that the majority of those fatalities had other “underlying” conditions. And that most of those related to a weakened immune system. There, we can mitigate.
What you put into your body is hugely important in helping your “defence” systems operate at their most efficient. And you can measure (we advise you do, at least from time to time, and it’s something we make easy at the restaurant) how efficiently you are feeding those systems. There are a variety of tools for doing that, and our current favourite is Cronometer. We take the effort out of making sure you’re eating the right stuff by designing our menu from the very beginning with nutrient values in mind – and present you with that information in order for you to make informed nutrition choices.
If you’re unlucky enough not to be able to visit and take advantage of our delicious, nutritious food, in sumptuous surroundings, we’ve still got your back. Below are some articles which cover the sort of nutrition sources you should consider making a regular part of your diet in order to maintain a powerful immune system. 🙂
